Now our dream came true! Our Free Computer Education Program has started!
Below is our historical records on our effort to make this program happened.
In my profession, I have been talking to many people about the idea of this project.
Later on I got a lot of promises from people to help with computer donation as long as we have power electricity.
Luckily, Mr. Sowanna Yun (he is a licensed professional tour guide, www.cambodianguide.com ) who is a local sponsor for HVTO, has brought Mrs. Susi Ma to visit our school and village. As she is really interested with the project, she decided to donate money to buy a power generator for our school. It was great news for me!
Rather than waiting to have other money, we (HVTO and community) had a discussion and in the result, the community is responsible to fundraise from parents of children and other villagers to build the classroom and a building for a generator and a toilette and HVTO is responsible to furnish and equip with light and other materials and tile floor as mentioned in our money expenditure and now we have a classroom and a toilette and place for generator.
To get started, HVTO decided to make a big expense to buy six computers so that we can start since April 2010.
Friends and I are trying to apply to get some more money to buy other computers for this project.
In result, we received donation 400$ from Robin Walker and his colleagues from Canada to buy two computers and we thank you very much!
Good news from Kaing Keo Vouchny, a friend from Facebook in Phnom Penh, who donated one computer to HVTO.
In August, I worked for a family of DAVIDSON, then they were interested to go and visit HVTO school and finally they have donated ten computers to HVTO. We are very happy and thank you very much for your great generosity.
My lovely German sister, Dr. Renate Soeder, introduced HVTO project to Studiosus Foundation e.V and then we have applied for fund to support our Free Computer Program and finally in October 2010, we received a good news from Mrs. Ruth Hopfer Kobsch of Studiosus Foundation to say that HVTO could receive fund 3900$ from STUDIOSUS FOUNDATION e.V. With this money we could buy other ten computers for our classroom and will be able to support the computer unit for the whole year 2010.
Mrs. Ruth, We thank you very much for your kind help and support!

It is very exciting here for many children. Yesterday we started receiving the students applying for Computer Training Course. We are planning to train 240 children as we will have 30 computers in our classroom. We have two separated training courses in one year as each course takes six months. We train 4 hours daily, each student learns one hour daily for six months and they will learn the basic computer knowledge, typing, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point, Photoshop and other additional programs.
You can not tell how much exciting the students in our programs are! And it is unbelievable that the older people are so anxious to learn computers also. HVTO is well-known through out the Kontreang Commune and we got the THANK YOU LETTER from Mekum (commune leader) already in our inauguration ceremony of opening this school.
HVTO is so happy to see that, our program is getting more popular, bigger and going on smoothly, but along it comes also a big worry for us to look for money to support all the programs we have created. With this new program, we need money for diesel, one more teacher, and computer maintenance adding to the general expense we have for our Free English Program.
It is always very good to hear from you to say that you are going to help us!
